Gates broke every Anti-Trust Law there was and paid a pittance to continue doing it. Collaborating with the Globalists he crushed the Mac so severely that Apple had to agree that the IBM Intel Chip would be installed in Mac’s to keep track of you. The Motorola Chip was far better and everyone knew it as its mathematics went on to infinity. The Gates Group now owns Motorola and Mac’s fate is sealed. In the scandalous act of providing Mac funds to restart their business, Mac had to agree to share the code for their video and graphics with IBM/Microsoft. Still…Microsoft did not make proper use of it and Mac with the ingeniousness of Steven Jobs soared high above the gradient scale board leaving behind Gates in the dust.

In my opinion, every sensible person owns a Mac. Its hardware parts do not need to be replaced for at least five years, its updated software is free and automatically downloaded…..its the true plug and play computer. Mac did not have any software program created where the user had to go through a separate, time consuming difficult learning curve just to get to the point to be able to learn it, plus pay time and again and again for education and more learning for upgrades to each of the PC software programs.

The PC continually broke down…..either the software or the hardware and more often than not required technician’s fees to fix it, if it was worth fixing at all. The Mac never hardly broke down….the software for each of its classy and classic programs hardly needed upgrading as all the great stuff was already there and classes while initially necessary for the basic learning curve was set up so that intuitively if one took the time…..they could teach their own selves. A cost saver for everyone. It is estimated 25-35% of the skill learning in just one Mac program can be transferred to every other Mac program. Why is this? Steve Jobs’ mandate for the computer was to be an educational tool and designed it for kids’ intuition. In my opinion, the biggest misfortune public education sold out to the so-called low price Gates gave the PC at………the result was to take the Mac out of the schools. The code basis of the Mac is significantly the same in one program and the next and the other……no program can be created or sold without the same code basics.

Contrary to this the PC’s code was individualistic to the singular programmer who created it…. which meant essentially that you had to go into the mind of the singular programmer to understand the program, then do the same for the next software program and so on. It fractualized your mind and disturbed your intuition. Hardly a thing worked by intuition on the PC, unless it was copied from the Mac. For instance, I had a friend who taught me how to load a picture onto a program in the PC……it would take him about thirty minutes to show me how. Even if i did it while he was still there with me, after he left, ten minutes later i could never repeat the same thing. This went on for three years. On the Mac, i followed the Help directions, it took forty-five minutes to read and do it the first time. The next picture was done in five minutes. All the Mac programs are like this. The Mac has been created for the user, not for money. I agree…. one problem is, its very expensive……but in the short term-long run it will save you money.

Bill Gates under the guise of philanthropy is going out killing and injuring people through the vaccination programs and sterilization bribery programs under the Eugenics program to de-populate the bulk of humanity so they can breed their heterogeneous species of a human being who has both a penis and a vagina, is mindless and their souls’ light dimmed. They have already created 10,000 such heterogeneous people in the US Navy covert operation where the unsuspecting wives of navy forces were told during check-ups they were low in this or that vitamin and mineral and then given hormonal pills that created exactly what the eugenics wanted. I have no time for Bill or Linda Gates, in my opinion they should be arrested, jailed and daily, week after week be given those very same vaccination shots and same hormonal shots and see how they like it then! The Eugenic controlling elite of the Governments aka The Council of Foreign Relations unbeknownst to most people outside of the US, have given orders that the U.S. Health Administration have now made vaccinations shots mandatory to be given to babies and these kids have 30 such sadistic shots by the time they are twelve years old. Thousands of deaths are the consequence and about 15% of the kids nowadays are autistic…… something which was virtually unknown in society prior to the “invention” of vaccinations. Wonder who the shareholders in that are?

What could Bill Gates have done that was actually positive? Retire. Keep about five million then donate his entire fortune to a moral, ethical person or group that goes out and builds home subsidy residences and apartments for the homeless and subsidizes organic farming so the people can eat, get healthy and carry on with their lives.

Computer Skills

Document Generation

Almost all of my involvement on the computer has been for research purposes and in the production of documents, usually for the making Booklets……i.e. at least this is the case in the last two or three years, therefore I consider it my only skill. Using ‘tables’ for the advantage of organizing information i found very helpful……so, many documents i have made, do have tables in them.

Pages

Pages is the preferred document Mac program to work with. On a scale of 1 to 10, am probably at a 5 or 6, I would say 7 or 8, if using the Inspector to make tables and columns. Might get better if had the time to do brochures or things. Have investigated, read and done all, if not all of the potentials with Pages including the Media of Photos, Audio and Links and Hyperlinks. But…would have to slow down and re-read, re-study each of them…to do them and get them done correctly, excepting for documents and booklets. The thing is, I did not want to include many of the extra features in my documents……having said that, i do anticipate a likelihood I will have to include all of these features in the future.

Computer Books

Am mostly self taught on the Mac. Have read the following books to try to learn how the Mac operates and consider myself a very slow learner i.o.w. i don’t retain how to do something on the computer if i have done it once…..or twice. I have to have done the same thing or similar type of thing at least 7-10-15 times before computer retention actually occurs with me……and that same thing has to be done in relatively frequent occurrences every few months in order for me to ‘just go ahead’ and use it….otherwise what happens often is, i have to review and study the entire process again before implementing certain things. Being a busy person it has been difficult to ‘get back to the similar type of activity’, hence, i have to review things again prior to the actual doing of them, hence, I have to say, gradually, i have improved my general knowledge of the Mac, making documents, saving them, emailing them as PDF’s and despite having done scanning, making a video, doing a Keynote Presentation, creating a Numbers document with formulas…….i cannot just up and do the same or similar thing again. One of the more important things i have done is create several booklets on how to do these various things…….which was done so i did not have to resort to going to the library and getting another book:lol; in other words my booklets are well written in detail as how to do these things and if following the directions in them i would be successful in doing what needs to be done to spice up the document. Posted several of these on the internet and received many comments on how ‘well they were done’, so glad someone got the benefit of them! Often the purpose of doing such booklets are specifically so that the ‘review’ is “nearby at hand”! Recently, i have just completed making about 15 poster-board charts with directions on how to do much of the basic MacIntosh stuff. Still, i have certain things to learn.

Numbers on the Mac…..The Mac’s Spreadsheet Program

Numbers on the Mac is the equivalent of Excel……pretty much. I never anticipate doing great, detailed spreadsheets anymore therefore decided that whatever i learn about spreadsheets i will learn it on the Mac using Numbers. It is part of the Mac’s iLife Work Software Program and comes installed when purchasing a Mac.

First, A Note on Excel……. I read a few books on Excel however had a difficult time learning it; i did develop a bit of skill in putting information into various columns and add them up, perhaps include a few basic type of formulas and was able to print them out in tables which looked pretty good, but i was no expert and could not go and do what the average mid level excel worker is supposed to know how to do that works for a company…..however, i believe could catch it up quite quickly if shown by the right person. The best thing that occurred was that the printing did come out correctly!

I was fortunate in 2010 to meet a young man who was proficient in making Excel spreadsheets. This was during a time i had designed an important spreadsheet ……and he took the many 30 or so hours in various meetings to teach me and make sure i did learn what i was doing “at that time”…….especially in formula creation, checking whether the formula worked properly etcetera. He did such a good job and i was a good learner. Having said that, if presented with having to do a similar project, i would definitely have to review the directions again and again…..to feel confident to go ahead and actually create another spreadsheet…or even to use that same spreadsheet.

Distinction with the Numbers Program (at least for me!~)) -Designed and Created an 11 page Spreadsheet on Purchasing a Commercial Property. Designed for Investors such that once appropriate number data was input the spreadsheet could act as a presentation tool to the interested investor giving the investor an accurate and detailed snapshot with the numbers that are vital and important to him to make clear the decision whether he considered the deal a good deal for him to be involved in. Also, the same spreadsheet could be emailed as a PDF to keep an investor aware and updated with the property the investor had invested in as to his status and profits as well as projected profits.

For me, I added to this Numbers Spreadsheet “Comments” that included every detailed aspect on the process of purchasing a commercial property……equivalent to about some 300 pages of information. I did it this way so it provided a checklist at each stage of the purchasing process to eliminate any or every mistake. I would really have to work at it again, probably for some weeks to become proficient with it to use it as a tool. The primary use of it, i understand it to be a collective place where i can go and review everything about How To Purchase Commercial Property.

Also Designed and Made a 5 page Spreadsheet on Purchasing a Single Dwelling Unit/House. This is also a good spreadsheet with pretty well most every detail involved in keeping track of amounts invested, ROI, rent amount, taxes, insurance and all other expenses etcetera. Would i use this spreadsheet…….yes at least for my own purposes as it is more inclusive than other spreadsheets i have seen available on the internet……..but, i like to give credit to other real estate people who have created very appropriate, very simple real estate assessment and profit calculation tools built in and as presentation tools for an investor…..i would use one or two of their tools available for purchase on the internet because they are so excellent!

Graphic Design and Desktop Publishing

Being the oldest guy in this class at age 49 (1997), and could do no more than put a diskette in the tower, create and name a document, save it and eject it so in the hand had an actual diskette with some information on it. That’s it. I could type, having learned that in high school…..about 35 words a minute with multiple mistakes…….typing is still the same speed except the method of correcting mistakes is done as the typing occurs…..at about 25-20 words a minute with no mistakes. Left this five month course at Burnaby College having made a nice colorful…angled design of a pool table with a cue lined up to shoot a ball. It had two palm trees in the back ground. Called it “The Next Shot”. In the opinion of the other students…..they called it beautiful. And, thought it was quite good too, considered it my major artistic accomplishment of the course.

Received a passing grade of 82 for the course, plus offered a critique of the course to the Instructor indicating the course should have included the dismantling of the computer tower and installation of all the various hardware parts……in other words take a computer apart and put it back together again. He agreed and plans for the next set of students were set up to do it over two weekends. The other suggestion was that the course should be extended another three months with specific instruction on more web design, web code and actual e-commerce coding so a person could confidently, proficiently set up their own online business……and know full well how to do it for others. He agreed here too…….taking the concept to the owner, a new course was created and implemented the following year to do just that……it was nine months and focused entirely on the web design and the online features a website needed, probably a year long course now.

What did we learn at Graphic Design and Typography? The history of the design and uses of fonts. How to design a page so that white space and design features were attractive and directed the eye to the important features you were presenting to the reader.
How to make colour for an artistic object. How to create an object at the pixel level and correct it at the pixel level. How to make layers of an object….or objects, group them and lock them in place. How to make squares, circles, rings, rectangles, other geometric shapes, any kind of shape, shadow and all kinds of lines and frames, and artistic compositions – which is another skill in its own right. How to make 3-D dimensional diagrams. How to make a Newspaper ‘page’ with all its significant fonts and columns. How to make a Magazine such that the reader would be directed by their own eye to easily find the next appropriate thing to read and do so comfortably. How to do Financial Reports for companies, with footnotes and references. How to Design Newsletters with columns and adding pictures/photos, etcetera. How to format coloured tables like the government and input information in the tables using various software…Wordperfect, Adobe Acrobat, Microsoft Word. We had what was expressed as “Entry Level” learning for 9 Software Programs: Word Perfect, Adobe Acrobat, Microsoft Word, Macromedia Freehand, Macromedia Flash, Adobe Photoshop, Adobe Illustrator, QuarkXpress, and Netscape for Web Design.

Astrological Chart – making a single chart or a combination of all of the following charts: Pre-Conception Charts, Natal Charts, Secondary Progressions, Astro-Cartographic-Locational Charts.
Numerological Chart Combining: Nicknames, Birth Names, Name Changes, Personality Numbers, Soul Numbers, Destiny Numbers, Challenge Numbers, Cyclic Numbers, Life Path Numbers.
Sant Mat (Path of the Perfect Saints) Cosmological Chart, a 4 ft. sq. chart of Sant Mat Cosmology.
Medical Charts: St. John’s Ambulance Medical Study Charts (2). These charts were used by St. John’s Ambulance as Medical Instructional Aids for 20 years until 2004 and were provided free on the provision they dress them up a bit.

Preface indicates Donald Trump chose as his Number One Guy – Dave Lindahl – to write a book for him for his Trump University entitled “Commercial Real Estate Investing 101”, subtitled: How Small Investors Can Get Started and Make It Big……Donald Trump wrote the Forward only. It became one of David Lindahl’s three Best Sellers, the other main one being: Emerging Real Estate Markets subtitled How to Find and Profit from Up – and – Coming Areas. Donald Trump had very good reason to ask Dave Lindahl to write that book. When you went looking for Real Estate Courses and those real estate gurus on the real estate training circuits if you persisted and looked really deep, it was always Dave’s name that came up as the best guy, the most honest guy, and the best teacher. Probably the main reason Dave is respected so much is…in his honesty, he never left out the details….. you know, the details which if you didn’t know about them…..you would never be able to make a deal……you would never know how to get it done. Dave’s Rementor Educational Institute has about 50 people employed, involved in the process of providing all the materials and resources……and Coaches…..in how to purchase any and every kind of commercial real estate. It took me six months of internet research to find out about him and be sure he was legit.

You cannot just go out and buy Commercial Real Estate without first studying it. The truth is no one was telling you how to do it properly, except Dave Lindahl, not even Donald Trump…or Robert Allen or any of the other real estate guys. You can buy Dave’s courses online or attend his workshops and get the hard copy materials……then do all the online stuff as well; Dave has made multiple videos detailing every aspect and these are important to review, study and re- review and study again. For me, attending a course – where all 160 people sat for three days totally attentive with their heads looking straightforward and never shifting the whole time …..(unless they had to visit the washroom:))…….told me i was in the right place to learn about Purchasing Commercial Property. It was a great course! You can attend one too. Just give them a call and find out when the next workshop is.

Internet Research…….

2014-2015…..Did some internet research for a company that is a major internet resource website……assisting doing simple copy and pasting of some of the code in the pages of the many many millions of code-pages the website has. About six months long. The process was very, very easy….however it turned out to be all a matter of “attention”…….if the attention was very good then no mistakes were made. If certain mistakes were made “it could mess something up a lot…i.e. hundreds of code pages attached to it!!!!” I made one such mistake. However, my goal was to improve and gradually went from making an average of 5% (which is a lot!) down to either 1% of none at all. Six months. I may say that the only reason i was able do these ‘simple tasks copying and pasting code’ was the programmer very excellently gave to me very clear directions in a very intuitive way. I believe other people would not have known or understood how to give such intuitive, clear directions.

Wrote about 15 articles on the topic on ‘how to do’…..various things about the Mac, and posted them on the internet. Perhaps at some point, will list them here. An interesting thing was they received thousands of comments, many quite complementary.

What are they saying? Who are the best? How come hundreds of millions are subscribers to even just one internet news source? There are over one billion websites aren’t there?

Doing personal Research since 1997 delving through all the websites for about ten years, inclusive with countless hours, you see many websites come and go and then with the advent of YouTube…..which was the springboard of a billion websites in a few short years it became impossible to contain any track of them. Almost every thing is posted on YouTube, and most websites have some posting of one kind or another on YouTube.

These are the ones i have found informative, enlightening and to be true, honest sources of important information regarding what is happening in the world. These are the sources of News….of Current Events……each of them have their own sources they go to in addition and a few of them are listed also. Often there is too much going on in the world, i am too busy to constantly research their links, however, i am recently starting to get to that point too. They are speaking out against the new world order and working hard in exposing it. I have found i’ve become all the more stronger as a person being aware of what’s going on in the world on the worldly level. I am so glad, very glad to have found multiple and many, many sources of truth and consider the internet to be a blessing for that. Of course there are many more sites than just the ones below. I Thank God, i got to Alex Jones’ Infowars Website. At first, i thought he was “crazy”……and then I was scared…..scared to hear what he had to say….and scared in the explosive truth in the way he said it. Then, i realized he was more of a man than i was. He had more character than i did. And that “he was right!!!” I couldn’t say he was wrong about anything he was saying cause I had done ‘a bit of homework’ on my own for years and years….twenty years……but had heard no publically talk about it the way Alex Jones did…..no one except for Charles MacLean…….and they fired him from the radio talk show he was on. Charles MacLean was “just getting started”……he had only been on the radio for a couple of months…..then they fired him, then he died they say of a heart attack about six months later. He was the last one allowed to speak the truth up here in British Columbia since, “all” the Media has been bought up……the more he found out what was really going on……the more angrier he got and the more he shouted, the more people couldn’t deny him. The more he said the more people realized he was right…..correct! Charles MacLean was a great Canadian……was somewhat like Alex. Both had that what i mean by “crazy”……a crazy bravery is what was really meant. That was in 1997. I went to his site because a friend told me about him. To be quite honest, I couldn’t take it……i didn’t want to face the truth of what he was saying……meaning ‘how far and to what depth the corruption had gotten to. And more and more and more of it. Then one day on TV, there on CBC there was this guy yelling with a microphone telling the Bilderbergers what he thought of them and that he knew and we knew (the people there during this protest of the Bilderberger meeting. I think it was in Ottawa, Canada or nearby it. My attention was riveted by the fact “someone” was saying something and wasn’t holding a darn thing back………saying….yelling! at them and yelling and yelling. And he was pure anger. No one in Canada spoke like that. And got on TV……and got away with it! Looking at him, i realized he was just a young guy. Later, i thought: this young guy……this guy came all the way up from America…..and nobody, nobody in Canada even had the guts to speak like him. After that, out of respect i decided to listen to him, i went to his website and even then i thought this guy is outrageous, he’s creating a danger to himself and if he is not careful someone might hurt him. I hoped God would protect him and later would often pray like that. Many times, i thought to call him……to thank him for saying what he is saying and doing what he is doing. I began to get more courage and more strength, more confidence to bear what was going on in the world and realized i had at least ‘one ally i could count on to stand for the truth’. I am not so eloquent, not so smart , so intelligent and so brilliant…….and i had become exhausted reading the newspapers and watching the news and reading the books and the magazines……exhausted that there was no unified movement here in Canada addressing the problems that were created as the multi-nationalists deftly moved into our country……with the help of our own Prime Ministers……and others of corruption in alliance with them. Canada was and is in a terrible state. Nevermind how ‘pretty it is’ and the slogan ‘it is the best place in the world to be’. That is just a slogan put out by the multi-nationalists…….the Council of the Foreign Relations. Now Canada has nothing and all it is is a police state. When YouTube came, Alex was ready. Alex is an Artist……and a Warrior. I cannot think of anyone else who “has woken up” so many people as Alex has. No one knows for sure…..even he and his team don’t know…….what is known is over 700,000,000 are estimated to listen to him whether they go to his Radio Show or to his YouTube Channel or to his website……that’s all over the world!!!! I always think to myself….the best place to “find out what’s going on that’s really, really important……when no one else has, remember to get to Infowars and see what’s happening. Alex Jones is ‘not ranting’ so much this last year or so and to be quite honest, i miss it. I miss the truth being told explosively “the way it should”……with all his volume, with all his passion, with all his unique intelligence…..you cannot help but ‘get with it again’. Starting of the Business….Maps Maps Maps

I provided a cheque for 10 Map-Books to Norm, then returned 2 days later to purchase 100 more. I was requested by the Accountant to meet Norm again to be granted allowance to purchase such an amount; apparently the previous purchaser did not fulfill their costs and had bounced several of their cheques.
Norm granted the purchase on assurance the cheque would not bounce when cashed the next 2 days later. I had given the first 10 map-books away as a promotion to business owners, then with the 100 map-books in my car returned the next day and each business owner bought 6 or 10 Vancouver and Region Street Directories.
I deposited the funds to make both cheques good.

Second Verbal Agreement with Norm Reeves, Vice-President of Mainland Magazine, mid July 1987.

I requested that norm allow me purchase the map-books in 100 amounts and be given 7 days to pay. He checked with the Accountant and gave 2 weeks to pay for whatever amount of map-books were purchased.

Third Verbal Agreement with Norm Reeves, Vice-President of Mainland Magazine, August 1987

I had purchased and paid for 600 map-books and Norm called me to his office. He increased the payment time to 30 days and if time was needed to have 45 days, and from then on to see the Accountant.

The Rand McNally Line of Maps (all U.S. State and all main City Maps) and The Allmap Line of Maps (all Canadian Province and all City Maps)

In September/87 Norm called me to his office and offered to provide me at the same discount of 60% the Rand McNalley Line and Allmaps Line of Maps if I wanted. Mainland Magazine was the main distributor of maps in British Columbia.
Once 1500 Map-Books were sold (from July, Aug to mid-September, I returned in September and requested to see the Accountant to have the payment time increased from 30 days to 45 days. I also purchased certain Rand McNalley American City Titles and Allmap BC and other Provincial and Canadian City Titles. I was “given” a $2500 credit limit as well, and if more was needed to see the Accountant again. Eventually it rose to $12,000 per 45 days. And i was never late on a payment.

Vancouver Street Directory…….this was a larger version by another publisher than the smaller mapbook: Vancouver & Region Street Directory published by Pattison.

Norm called me to his office in November to offer me access to purchasing the Vancouver Street Directory, (another Map-Book but larger than the Vancouver Street Directory)…..as I had by then secured approximately 800 accounts from Horseshoe Bay to Hope and was purchasing 2000 Vancouver & Region Street Directories/map-books per month since September. He acknowledged i had not sold or serviced any of Mainland Magazine accounts despite being requested by 80% of the vendors to do so due to the discrepancy that Mainland Magazine’s delivery policy was to over-stock the vendor. My policy was to never overstock any vendor and gauge their monthly need……with calling me should they sell out or wish more product. Delivery for extra product was done the same day or next day. I declined his offer for now until researching the market more thoroughly expressing the Vancouver & Region Street Directory (the smaller mapbook) offered competition to the Vancouver Street Directory. The Vancouver & Region Street Directory…..which was the main map that in my opinion was not only a better map-book but also gave me exclusivity as a provider of Maps. And that the competition also had access to the larger mapbook: the Vancouver Street Directory.
In December, i received a call from the publisher of the Vancouver Street Directory offering me exclusivity of the distribution of his mapbook. After discussing it with Norm…..Norm agreed that my purchasing of the Vancouver Street Directory be done directly through the publisher and not necessary to be done through Mainland Magazine…..however, pick up of it would continue to be done at Mainland Magazine.
Writing many proposals to all the main chain stores, meeting the buyers it occurred no other independent business person one to that point had brought map proposals to the Chainstores. After four months, once all the buyers had agreed to purchase the Vancouver Street Directory, i was informed that the my competition had interested the publisher with a purchase of a single cash allotment of $35,000 worth of the mapbook……and was thenceforth given all of the existing Chainstore accounts to service. First lesson in the map business: pay attention to the intuition when not to get involved. Nevertheless, i provided many of the other mapbook titles that were available through Norm.

Offered Exclusive Distributorship by Outdoor Recreation Maps. Gave it to ITMB (International Books and Maps) owner Jack Joyce on the provision that: a. He develop more maps for them when the opportunity arose, and if possible update existing Outdoor Rec Maps (which he did a very good job of. b. that he always provide me a good, fair price for whatever amount i wanted to purchase and sell only to me, unless i agreed to allow other map distributors to do so also. Like a good guy, he continued to respect this.
Offered Exclusive Distributorship of The Transit Guide by BC Transits Marketing Manager, Terry Jaycox. Accepted the distributorship on the provision that the purchase price the following year would be lower. This lower price never arrived so in the fourth year, the equivalent amount of the amount of the difference between the existing price and the lower price which should have been paid to me…..that same amount due to BC Transit was never paid to BC Transit, and no more service was given for the Transit Guide. In the meantime, was Commended by BC Transit Board of Directors each year for providing the best service of The Transit Guide since its inception some twenty-five years hence. Commendation was also for doubling, then tripling and popularizing the Transit Guide’s account base……which formerly has existed only at “all libraries” and a few outlets e.g. The Vancouver Board and Trade Office and The Greater Vancouver Tourism Centre (downtown Vancouver). Also provided computer generated list of accounts and sales reports to the accounts on an updated annual basis. Again, never overstocked any Transit Guide account e.g. Safeway or IGA.
Offered exclusive ownership of The Vancouver & Region Mapbook (the smaller one) by the owner…….but could not afford to take up the offer. It had occurred that i had sold more of the Mapbook than all the 42 Driver-Salesmen of Great Pacific News….the exclusive and only other distributor than myself. He had a heart condition and wanted a way to support his wife financially if he died. By mistake,…..the management at Great Pacific News informed the owner of Allmaps, from Toronto and owner of Allmaps of Canada and primary distributor of Rand McNalley Maps…..that the Vancouver & Regions Mapbook was for sale. He did not disclose this to me when i met him for a meeting at his hotel when he came to Vancouver…….he said he was interested in me being his exclusive distributor other than the Jimmy Pattison Group’s Great Pacific News. In confidence i shared with him my plan to buy a van, put advertisement on it and distribute maps to all the main cities and towns in BC. He gave me the confidence he would provide the van and a small warehouse space, and a secretary. I was soon to be going on holiday to SE Asia/Singapore and we agreed to meet when i returned about three or four months later. When i returned, he had purchased and become the owner of the Vancouver & Region Mapbook, had hired someone as his main distributor, whom he supplied with a small warehouse space and a secretary….and had been offering a 50% discount to what myself and the Great Pacific News Group offered to our customers for the Vancouver & Region Mapbook. Consequently, on the phone with him, he argued that he thought i was not coming back to BC!!! I responded: why did you not try to contact me? The managers at Great Pacific News also said they had been betrayed by the Allmaps owner and apologized for involving him with me, i.e. arranging the meeting with him at his hotel. Due to diminishing accounts unable to keep the loyalty of the account due to the extended undercut price by 50% for the mapbook and discounts also for the Allmaps and Rand McNalley maps……..and who could expect a business owner to not switch their loyalty, especially at the gas stations,……in return, the managers offered me the same verbal agreement with the maps, and to have my choice of: Videos, or Batteries, or Greeting Cards. Due to the fact videos at the time were hardly popular and my lack of interest in movies in general…..and the margin on the batteries being necessarily less buying from Great Pacific News, greeting cards were chosen.
Offered the exclusive distributorship of Map Arts of Toronto. The owner called me after he heard ‘through the grape-vine’ of what happened with the owner of Allmaps. I had previously called the owner of Map Arts as he had a few titles i was interested in. I declined his exclusive offer but informed him of the actions he had to take to be successful. Some months later, he found someone in Abbotsford to become his distributor so he called me back to know he would offer maps at a low price for me. I thanked him and did not purchase any maps from him.
During the time of the map business, was never late in payments as agreed upon……however, on the rare occasion when an accounts receivable with a chainstore was late in paying e.g. large amounts, this consequented notifying an accounts payable, e.g a supplier, the due amount was pre-arranged it would be arriving as soon as the chainstore paid.

Greeting Cards

Distinctions in the Greeting Cards Business

Reviewing and critiquing 5,000 greeting cards, selected 1200 for best opportunity in sales. Of these 1200, allocated Art and/or Text changes to 450 cards, then sent them to the supplier…..Image Craft Greeting Cards. Was immediately invited to their printing operation and introduced to the Head of the Art Department to receive news that 325 suggestions i had made were being implemented as we spoke. Image Craft cards were $1.00 cards i.e. retailed at $1.00. I had decided to deal with Image Craft because the cards quality were in my opinion equivalent to Hallmark or Carleton Cards…..were better priced for people with marginal incomes. It was a good decision because it turned out the Partner-Owner and all the people in the Head Office were good people with high integrity and honesty.
The result of the new 325 cards, once on the market shelves immediately increased sales all across Canada. For instance, the test market i had operational in 115 Department Stores throughout Western Canada had an agreement that if five items (whether greeting card, gift wrap or bow or invitational card) were sold, then this would be considered a success. The first six months of the test market achieved 16 items sold per day. When the new 325 cards were on the greeting card racks, sales immediately doubled to 33 items sold per day. Similar and even greater sales occurred with distributors particularly in Ontario and The Maritime Provinces, with apparently one distributor becoming a millionaire in less than six months.
Image Craft was happy, the Distributors were happy and so was the Buyer and the Head Office of the company which i was dealing with. The only unhappiness was with the competition……which immediately responded by offering large cash dollar amounts upfront to existing retail businesses to “not deal with Image Craft Products” and deal only with them. They did this all across the country at the expense of millions, tens of millions of dollars. Guess who it was?
Later, two years later an advertisement appeared in the Vancouver Sun Classifieds for a buyer of a greeting card company in India. Out of curiosity, I called and met the person….a distinguished, elderly gentleman from Bombay (Mumbai)…..and heard his story. His company was one of the three major greeting card publishers in India. Agreements were congenial between all three companies. Suddenly, the previous year, Hallmark came to India and offered to purchase all three companies. Two did not respond, including this gentleman as he said “they were not honest or forthright with their intentions”, plus his company was operating very, very well….and his son was set to now take over the business completely. The one company that did sell out regretted it soon after the sale as Hallmark began publishing greeting cards “not suitable to the Indian Greeting Card Market”, and resulted in upsetting the entire greeting card industry in India from which it has never recovered. Hallmark exported their cards to North America where it began selling cards at a $1.00 to compete and dominate the Image Craft market share.
How did this happen? It could have been that after going to Toronto…..on Bay Street, to meet with the Hudson’s Bay Head Buyer and present two lines of greeting cards……namely the $1.00 Image Craft Greeting Cards and The Spirit Art Greeting Cards & Posters line,……they because he liked them and was interested to purchase them…..meaning order them and set them into their 88 Hudson Bay Department Stores across Canada……it could have been that when he took made the initial order, it was “stopped by the President of the Hudson’s Bay Company”. In fact, the very next month, the Head Buyer….who was to retire the following year was given early retirement. The replacement Head Buyer never made the purchase, and continually made reasons in following through with the purchase order for the next eight months, then finally cancelled the order….she said upon directions from her superiors.
My deal in waiting…..was with a sister company of Hudson’s Bay…….for its first major order for the 115 stores within its organization. This company was set to profit (after labour costs associated with ordering, receiving, and stocking the greeting card rack) approximately $400,000 to $440,000 per year. I had actually been invited to their Head Office to be congratulated on all my good work done and told that i was going to be a millionaire. It had taken two years of constant 7 days a week work….refining and double refining specific requests by the Head Buyer to help them make more money. The first “monthly”purchase order was set at a cost of $110,000……when suddenly the entire Head Office Team, including the President, Vice-President and Executive President were fired, with one of them shifted to another position under the new President……who was brought in from another sister company where he held the position as a Regional Director. These were orders from the Hudson’s Bay Company President in Montreal, Quebec. The result of the Head Office Team i was dealing in resulted apparently one suicide, another with a nervous breakdown which caused an apparent early death just after the next year, and a heart attack in my Head Buyer. The new President built a wire-caged, door locked entry meeting room – about 24 ft x 36 ft – (and caged in the top/ceiling of the meeting room as well) in its recently acquired new warehouse, then promptly cancelled contracts with 75% of their product lines across the board. Great dissent occurred from existing suppliers who had been loyal, good suppliers for over 20, 25 years….aka the wired caged door locked entry meeting room. My product, the Image Craft Greeting Card Line which was set to make them $400,000 net profit (aside from administration of purchase orders and payments) per year – without expansion i.e. a 4ft. rack was to be increased to an 8ft. rack in at least 20% of the 115 stores i.e. the company would have made approximately $600,000 per year…..it was discontinued. Of question was also when the new President prior to the discontinuation requested that i absorb the cost of the GST they had to pay i.e. 7%. This would have amounted to a loss of $92,4,000 to myself per year based on the existing monthly order amount, but was an illegal request according to the legal guidelines of the GST Rules and Regulations. Not only was it an unfair request, but also an illegal request which i could not submit myself to and if i did, i would be committing crime. All, meaning “all” of the Store Managers of this company had reported that they wanted the Image Craft Greeting Cards to “stay in the store because for the first time in years the customers were coming specifically for the nice cards at a price they could afford”, and the spin off of existing and new customers coming to the store for greeting cards and gift wrap who also purchased other things has also created new income for the store.
Years later, we see two major events with Hudson’s Bay. Their sister company, Zellers, was sold and purchased by an American Company: Target. Target after two years closed its doors and now close to 18,000 people are unemployed. The Hudson’s Bay Company has also been sold. No one sells a company like Hudson’s Bay without planning years in advance. Observation indicates that with the Multi-nationalist year after year continued buy out of company after company then merging and re-emerging as a major conglomerate……is a control operation to gain most if not all the existing marketplaces in the country. When contacting the President of The Hudson’s Bay Company and querying him as to the New President’s actions knowing full well the net profits to be made…..as it was ultimately he who held final responsibility, he replied “I stand by his decision”.
It is true that had the Head Buyer of The Hudson’s Bay Company had retained or stayed in his position and completed the purchase order for the Image Craft Greeting Card Line, millions of cards monthly would have been bought by their customers in the first year, and i would have become a multi-millionaire. If the Spirit Art Greeting Card Line and Posters were ordered….being of regular price at $2.50 per card, $8.00 per poster…….in 88 stores across Canada,……being said and agreed by the Head Buyer, that they were the “nicest greeting cards in the entire market place”…..they would also have been a great addition to their several different lines of greeting cards, in fact much better than the Hallmark and Carleton Greeting Card Lines. The Head Buyer expected them to sell out in the first month. The purchase order for one month to be $105,600 ($1200 per standing rack). Sales would have made myself a millionaire and the Spirit Art company owner a multimillionaire.
Image Craft held true to their integrity in a high level and offered me a kindly, almost no charge fee of $5,000 for returning the stock to them from the 115 stores. I collected the stock from the company’s warehouse and the 11 test market stores, re-organized the stock and re-shipped it back to Ontario. Prior to the sending of the stock, i was visited by their best national distributor who had just become a millionaire as he wanted to see first hand how i was able to make $0.06 cents profit per card or item and he was only making $0.01 cent per card or item. He also wanted to personally thank me for the re-design of the 325 cards which had increased his personal sales so much. Later, the Partner-Owner came after the shipment to share my grief and offer me to be their BC Representative as he appreciated my organizational and sales ability, and sense of responsibility and honest ethics in keeping him informed of each stage of the business. My particular sadness was no longer going to be dealing with such good, high calibre business people. A month later, I declined his offer as the BC Representative as i felt it just too much to “start from scratch again” given the sense of grief I was feeling over the “decision” by the new president of the company i was dealing with. The Greeting Card business must be a tight, well known “grapevine-like type of business” because within the same next two months, I received 18 offers from various U.S. companies to be their BC or Canadian Distributor.
